Story Behind
It was a 24 hours event which participants form a maximum team of 4, and create a retro-based game within 24 hours with the given theme. In this year's theme, it is called friendship.
I lead a team of 4 including myself which consist of 3 programmers and 1 artist.
We worked tirelessly round the clock when the gamejam begin, and each of us have only slept for at most 3 hours! The encounter rate of bugs is high as we are constantly rushing to get all the features out.
Despite all the obstacles, we brave through the storm and we did it before 24 hours with the help of GameMaker Studio which has most of the in-built features ready and we programmers can focus much more on the game-play and User Interface.
So we have created a 2D retro play style of puzzle game which we called it Tomodachi (Friend in Japanese).
The basic game-play is there are 2 friends who have to escape from the puzzle and they could only mirror each other's movement.
Group pictures of my friends and I who have overcome the challenges in GameJam.
We won the audience choice award for it!
